Hey friends, Lauren here, your neighborhood aerial cheerleader and big fan of flying upside down.
If you've been thinking about trying aerial but something is holding you back—whether it's a schedule that feels too full, a little voice in your head that says "I’m not strong/flexible/young enough," or just the general mystery of what happens once you step into the studio—this one’s for you. Let me just say it loud and clear: aerial is for everyBODY. At Central Oregon Aerial Arts, we don’t care what shape you’re in, how old you are (as long as you’re 8 or older!), how bendy you feel, or whether you’ve ever touched a silk, hoop, or trapeze before. We care that you show up. That you’re curious. That you’re ready to try something new, even if it feels a little (or a lot) intimidating. We’ve created a studio that intentionally breaks away from the "session" model. Why? Because real growth doesn’t happen on a rigid calendar. Life isn’t always predictable, and aerial progress isn’t either. We know our students are juggling families, school, jobs, and everything in between. So we meet you where you’re at, every single time. We also are a competition-free environment, where the only thing you’re trying to outdo is your own doubts. Without the pressure of scores or rankings, our students are free to explore movement, build strength at their own pace, and celebrate progress—no matter how big or small. It’s about connection, not comparison. And in aerial, that kind of freedom makes room for real confidence, creativity, and joy to take flight. That flexibility lets us do something really special: we get to focus on YOU. Not the schedule. Not the next routine. Not racing to the next skill. Just you, your journey, and what your body needs that day. Whether you're here once a week to try something joyful and different, or you're on the track toward performance and want to train hard, we see you. And we’ll support you at every step, climb, and spin. Honestly? COAA is my favorite place to be. It’s not just about the tricks or the conditioning or the creative flow (though all of that is amazing). It’s about the community we’re building. One that welcomes all bodies, all backgrounds, all experience levels. One that says "You are already strong enough"—because you are. You just need a place to remember it. So if you’re still wondering if aerial is for you, let me save you the suspense: it is. We’ll be here when you’re ready to take that first (or next) step. Come say hi, swing by a class, or just watch for a bit. You belong here. You always have. Now, let’s fly. Lauren Fletcher
