When I became my aerial silks career in 2013, I thought I'd get a little stronger, maybe feel a little better about myself physically. I had no clue at the time just how impactful it would be just about everwhere else in my life.
I learned how to trust myself, have fun through the struggles, trust my coach, and so much more, all while I gained some new friends, learned some hard life lessons, and realized that above all, if I put my mind to something by hell or high water I could accomplish it. When someone asks me what my favorite part of aerial is, some days it's everything but the fabric. Some days it's the comraderie. Some days its the sweat. Some days its looking around before I execute a drop with the jaw-dropping feeling of "oh my god, I can fly." What are some of the benefits you find in aerial that go beyond the fabric? Keep on flying! Lauren Fletcher
